Kamloops, BC – The Victoria Royals erased a three-goal deficit, and Chaz Reddekopp scored the game winner in extra time, to defeat the Kamloops Blazers 5-4 on Saturday night.

Extra Frame – Victoria took part in their sixth overtime game this season. The club has earned a 3-3 record this season in extra time.
On Fire – A trio of Royals extended their point streaks in tonight’s game. Tyler Soy leads the team with 17 points (7g-10a) in his last 11 contests. Dante Hannoun (1g-3a) and Scott Walford (3a) meanwhile have points in their previous three games.
First Game – Newcomer D-Jay Jerome made his Royals’ debut tonight. Jerome was acquired from the Prince Albert Raiders this past Thursday.
Phill-ing the Net – With a goal tonight, Matthew Phillips reached the 30-goal mark. The Victoria forward is the eighth player in the WHL this year to reach 30 goals, and has scored at least 30 in each of his three seasons in the league.
Record Watch – Victoria’s Tyler Soy moved within one assist of tying the franchise record for most helpers tonight. Soy has tallied 150 assists through his WHL career, while the franchise mark is help by former Royal and Chilliwack Bruin Brandon Magee who recorded 151 career assists.
Island Connection – The Blazers had three Vancouver Island natives on their roster in tonight’s game. Nolan Kneen is from Duncan, while Sean Strange and Dylan Ferguson call Saanich and Lantzville home respectively.
On the Road Again – The Royals will now head to Everett to wrap up their three games in three nights against the Silvertips. Puck drop is set for 4:05 p.m. from the Angels of the Winds Arena.
Back Home – Victoria returns home on Friday and Saturday for a weekend series against the Blazers with both games set for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. Friday’s contest is Ugly Blazer Night, while Saturday is Country Night.
