Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals today announced that the club has received conditional compensation from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for the rights to overage forward Noah Gregor (1998).

A native of Beaumont, AB, Gregor was signed to an entry level NHL contract earlier this year by the San Jose Sharks and is eligible to play in the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. He was drafted by the Sharks in the fourth round, 111th overall, in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6-0, 188 lb forward was reacquired by the Royals from the Moose Jaw Warriors in December and recorded 29 points (15g-14a) in 30 regular season games with Victoria. He also contributed 12 points in 11 playoff contests for the club. In 60 regular season games, spilt between the Royals and Warriors last season, Gregor registered 29 goals and 36 assists. In November, he was a member of Team WHL at the CIBC Canada Russia Series.

The 1998-born forward was originally selected by Victoria in the third round, 55th overall, at the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. He was traded to the Warriors in 2014 in a deal that saw the Royals receive defenceman Travis Brown.
