Besting the Blazers: After tonight’s victory, the Royals improve to 13-2-0-0 at home against the Blazers since the 2015-16 season. This includes going an undefeated 7-0-0-0 over the past two seasons.

First Impressions: Tonight, marked the first home game for a trio of Royals. Forward’s Kody McDonald and Carson Miller, as well as defenceman Jake Kustra all played their first home game in a Royals’ jersey. The 20-year-old McDonald also scored his first two goals for the club.

Going Streaking: Currently, Royals’ forwards Kaid Oliver and Phillip Schultz are riding five-game point scoring streaks in which both players have tallied six points. In those five games, Oliver has collected three goals and three assists, while Schultz has scored twice to go along with four helpers.

Chasing History: Tonight, Royals’ netminder Griffen Outhouse collected his 103rd career victory. This moves him to sole possession of 13th all-time for most regular season wins by a goaltender in WHL history. This brings him 17 away from the all-time-record of 120 wins, which was set by Tyson Sexsmith and Corey Hirsch.

Penalty Shots: In the first period of tonight’s game, Kamloops’ forward Jeff Faith was awarded a penalty-shot and was stopped by Royals’ goaltender Griffen Outhouse. This was the first penalty-shot Outhouse has faced this season, and the second for the Royals. The initial one came on October 19, 2018 when Brock Gould saved Kelowna’s Leif Mattson.

Coming up: The Royals take on the Kamloops Blazers again on Friday at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre at 7:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Select Your Tickets box office, over the phone by calling 250-220-7777, or online at www.selectyourtickets.com.
