Record Setter: Scoring a powerplay goal in the third period, Royals’ forward Tyler Soy set the franchise record for most career points in his 281st WHL game. With his 265th (125g-140a) career point, he passed former Royal and Chilliwack Bruin Brandon Magee, who scored 264 points (113g-151a) in 318 games.

WHL Debut: Tyus Gent played in his first career WHL game for the Royals tonight. Gent has been playing with the Delta Hockey Academy Prep this season where he has totaled 34 points (16g-18a) in 20 games.

Lethal Scorers: Tonight featured four of the top five scorers in the WHL in the Broncos’ Aleksi Heponiemi (17g-44a), Tyler Steenbergen (32g-24a), Glenn Gawdin (20g-28a), and the Royals’ Matthew Phillips (21g-26a).

Career First: Broncos’ rookie Ethan Regnier recorded his first WHL goal in tonight’s contest. The Prince Albert, SK native was selected by Swift Current in the 11th round, 230th overall in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
