Victoria signs 2001-born forward.

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals are proud to announce the signing of 2001-born forward Tyus Gent (j-ENT) to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.
Gent was selected by the Royals in the fourth round, 88th overall, in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
“Tyus is an intelligent forward with good size and great instincts who is developing into the type of player we projected him to be when we drafted him,” General Manager Cameron Hope said. “We are very happy to welcome Tyus and his family to the organization.”
This season, the native of Delta, BC, played in 25 games for the Delta Hockey Academy Elite 15’s of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) where he tallied 50 points (25g-25a). Gent led his team in both goals and points and finished as the top scorer in the league. He was named the CSSHL Elite 15’s Most Valuable Player at the end of the season.
The 6-1, 167 lb forward also played in eight games for the Delta Prep team this year and recorded two goals and an assist for three points.
During the 2015-16 season, Gent registered 40 points (23g-17a) in only 16 contests for the Delta Varsity 2 club of the CSSHL to lead his team in scoring. Gent also led the team in playoff scoring with six points (3g-3a) in four contests.
