Victoria acquires 1999-born defenceman from Edmonton.

Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has acquired 1999-born defenceman Brayden Gorda from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for conditional draft pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.
Last season, the product of Edmonton, AB tallied four points (1g-3a) and 49 penalty minutes in 30 games for his hometown Oil Kings. During the 2016-17 season, the 19-year-old defender set career highs in goals (4), assists (12) and points (16) to finish third in team scoring amongst defencemen.
The 6-2, 193 lb blueliner has played in 151 career regular season games, all with Edmonton, and has recorded six goals and 26 assists to go along with 177 minutes in penalties.
Gorda was originally drafted by the Oil Kings in the third round, 64th overall, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
