Royals Announce 2022-2023 Home Schedule

Victoria will host Spokane to open their season on September 23.
The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce their home schedule for the upcoming 2022-2023 Western Hockey League season.
The team will play 34 home games at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre from September to March, beginning with a two-game set against the Spokane Chiefs on Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th.
The home schedule features 23 contests taking place on a Friday or Saturday night, nine taking place on a Tuesday or Wednesday night and a single game each on a Monday and Sunday afternoon.
“We’re so excited to release our home dates to our fans in Victoria and all over the world,” said General Manager and Head Coach Dan Price. “We’re looking forward to all of the great moments and memories in the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this year. We know we’ll see great speed and passion from our team every game, and that each opponent will present a unique test and opportunity. Certainly we’re excited to open the Regular Season against the Spokane Chiefs, and we look forward to hosting two of our Divisional rivals, the Kelowna Rockets and the Vancouver Giants, early in the schedule.”
There are a number of key dates fans won’t want to miss, including the first visit by Mainland rivals Vancouver on Saturday, October 22nd, a visit from WHL superstar Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats on Saturday, November 26th, a special Family Day contest on Monday, February 20th against the Seattle Thunderbirds, and the final home game of the Regular Season on Saturday, March 25th against the Everett Silvertips.
Start times for all Saturday home games have been moved up to 6:05pm to facilitate a more family friendly experience.
“We’ll get to see each of the Eastern Division teams once during the Regular Season, including the 2021-22 Division Champion Winnipeg Ice in October, followed by the Regina Pats and Connor Bedard in November,” added Price. “And we’re of course very much looking forward to our clashes with the 2022-23 Memorial Cup host Kamloops Blazers. With our new 6:05 p.m. start times on Saturdays, and some great specialty games such as the February 20th Family Day game versus Seattle, we know there will be plenty of buzz on Blanshard throughout the entire season.”
The Royals plan to release their full Regular Season schedule in the coming weeks.
