Victoria Royals Main Camp – Day 3 Recap

It was the final day of scrimmages at Victoria Royals Training Camp presented by Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA. All three squads looked to make their final impressions before the Royals Blue versus White Intra-Squad game on Wednesday, September 7th at 7:05 pm.
Team Phillips took on Team Hicketts in the first game of the day. Carter Dereniwsky and Jacob McKague put Team Hicketts on the board in the first half of the game. Team Phillips then made a three-goal comeback to take the win 3-2.
Team Phillips then took on Team Outhouse in a tightly contested match. Jayden Kraus made 15 saves for Team Outhouse and Campbell Arnold stopped all 14 shots he faced for Team Phillips to hold a 2-2 tie and send the game to a shootout. Luke Rybinski went on to score the only goal of the shootout to give Team Outhouse the win by a score of 3-2.
The final scrimmage of training camp was between Team Outhouse and Team Hicketts. The scoring came in bunches for Team Hicketts. Brayden Schuurman picked up a goal and three assists in the contest. Teague Patton and Ethan Watkins both picked up two goals and an assist to help Team Hicketts pick up a 6-1 win.
Training Camp closes on Wednesday with the players competing in the annual Blue versus White intra-squad game tomorrow night at 7:05 pm.
