ROYALS FOURSOME WINS SILVER AT WORLD U-17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE
Victoria’s Tyler Soy and Chaz Reddekopp help Team Pacific to silver medal.

Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals would like to congratulate forward Tyler Soy, defenceman Chaz Reddekopp, Assistant Coach Enio Sacilotto and Athletic Therapist Khore Elliott who claimed the silver medal today with Team Pacific at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge is an annual 10-team tournament championed by Hockey Canada that involves five regional Canadian teams as well as teams comprised of the best players under the age of 17 from the United States, Czech Republic, Germany, Russia and Sweden. Team USA claimed gold after 4-0 win over Team Pacific in the tournament final today.
Soy, a Cloverdale, BC native, finished the tournament with five points (2g-3a) in six games on one of Team Pacific’s top lines. Drafted by the Royals in the first round, eighth overall, of the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft, Soy has 17 points (9g-8a) in 37 games this season as a rookie for Victoria.
Reddekopp, a West Kelowna, BC product, had a pair of assists in the tournament which both came in Team Pacific’s semi-final win over Team Russia. The 6-3, 215 lb defenceman also posted four penalty minutes while logging significant minutes on Team Pacific’s powerplay. The Royals selected Reddekopp with their 13th overall pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam draft while the blueliner has eight points (1g-7a) and 23 penalty minutes in 29 games this season for Victoria.
Royals’ Assistant Coach Enio Sacilotto and Athletic Therapist Khore Elliott also filled roles on Team Pacific’s staff in their respective positions. Sacilotto is currently in his fourth season with the franchise while Elliott is in his second year with the Royals.
Victoria prospect Matthew Campese also competed in the tournament for Team West. Campese posted one assist as Team West earned a ninth place finish.
