Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals would like to congratulate rookie forward Tyler Soy who was named to Hockey Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team yesterday in advance of the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.

The selection camp saw 44 players born in 1997 from across Canada compete for a spot on Team Canada and will took place this past week at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary, AB. Soy will now travel with Team Canada to the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup scheduled for August 11-16 in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia.

Soy, a 5-11 center, recently completed his rookie season with the Royals in which he posted 30 points (15g-15a) over 65 games played.
